HOLZ PROF products have successfully passed environmental and toxicity tests in Germany

In January 2024, an ECO-test was conducted on oak wood treated with HOLZ PROF fire retardant at the ECO-INSTITUTE Dresden’s Development and Testing Laboratory (Entwicklungs- und Prüflabor Holztechnologie GmbH). The testing complied with the standards EN 16516 and EN ISO 11890-2, aiming to evaluate the release of hazardous substances.
Test results
- Confirmation of Safety: The test results demonstrated that wood treated with HOLZ PROF fire retardant does not contain substances hazardous to health.
- Carcinogenicity Assessment: It was confirmed that there is no expected carcinogenic risk. This conclusion was supported by references to reports from the German Risk Assessment Institute and the Federal Environmental Agency on the toxicological assessment of formaldehyde.
- Environmental Friendliness: The HOLZ PROF product meets the highest environmental friendliness requirements.
- Classifications: The product was assessed according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and other relevant normative acts, confirming its safety across various categories, including carcinogenicity and mutagenicity.
